The four game modes at a glance

Classic is the solo backbone: you answer trivia questions to earn coins, build and upgrade landmarks in your city, and travel from city to city as you progress. It's also not entirely peaceful — you can attack and rob other players' cities, and they can hit yours back, which keeps the leaderboard race spicy.

The other three modes are head-to-head. Async Duel lets you challenge anyone on your friends list and play on your own schedule: five random questions, ten seconds each, and whoever plays faster and more accurately wins when both sides are done. 1v1 Live is the same duel instinct but in real time — seven questions on a shared timer against a live opponent. Brain Battle is the big one: four players, three escalating rounds, and a final that crowns one winner.

You don't have to pick a lane. Most players run Classic as the long-term project and dip into duels and Brain Battles when they want real competition — the coins flow between all of them.

How the coin economy ties it together

Coins are the single currency across the whole game. You earn them by answering questions in Classic, winning duels and Brain Battles, playing daily quizzes, and inviting friends — each friend who joins is worth 500 coins.

You spend them in two directions: stakes and city. Competitive modes let you stake coins on a match — in a 1v1 duel the winner takes the pot (minus a 10% fee that keeps the economy from inflating). In Classic, coins go into building and upgrading landmarks, which is how you progress to new cities.

That loop — win coins in battles, invest them in your city, climb the leaderboard, repeat — is the whole game in one sentence. Coin packs are also available in the app if you'd rather skip the grind, but nothing stops a free player from competing.

One account everywhere

Your Trivio.NET account is cross-platform: sign in with the same account on your phone and in the browser, and your coins, level and match history stay with you. Battle modes run free in a browser at battles.trivio.net — same opponents, same balance, no install.

If you try the web version as a guest first, know that guest progress lives only in that browser. Signing in is what makes your progress portable, so do it before you get attached to your balance.

Where to start as a new player

Play Classic first — it teaches the question flow with no pressure and starts your city. Once answering under a ten-second timer feels normal, try an Async Duel against a friend, since the pace is identical but nobody's watching you think.

Move to 1v1 Live when you want real stakes: start at the minimum 100-coin stake and raise it as your win rate earns the confidence.
