Make a Quiz — Free Quiz Maker for a Room, No Signup

Write your questions, put them on the screen, run the round. Everything happens in this browser: there is no account to make, nothing to install, no cost, and no server involved — your draft is saved on this device and nowhere else. When you are done you can keep the file, or send it to us and we may publish it as a free quiz page on trivio.net.

Built for a pub quiz, a classroom or a family Christmas: teams write their answers on paper and nobody needs a phone. Present mode fills the screen in large type for a projector or a TV.

How it works

There are three steps and none of them needs an account. In the editor you add a question, type up to four answers, and click the coloured letter of the one that is correct. An explanation is optional — if you write one it appears on screen when you reveal the answer, which is the part people remember. Each question can keep the quiz-wide timer and points, or be given its own.

Present mode takes over the whole screen in the dark house colours, one question at a time, with the four answers in the same red, blue, amber and teal used across Trivio. Space or the right arrow moves you on — first to the answer, then to the next question — the left arrow goes back, and Esc drops you out into the editor with everything intact. The timer counts down and then stops rather than jumping ahead on its own, because a screen that advances while someone is still arguing is no use in a real room. Teams answer on paper and mark each other at the end.

The last step is a summary, plus your quiz as a JSON file you can copy or download. That file is the whole point: whatever we do or do not do, your questions are yours in a plain format you can keep, reuse, or open in anything.

Where your draft is stored

In this browser, under one key, on this device. A refresh will not lose it and neither will closing the tab. What it will not do is follow you: a draft written on a laptop is not on the phone, and clearing your browser data clears the draft with it. Private-browsing windows sometimes refuse to store anything at all — if that happens the editor says so in red rather than pretending it saved, and the fix is to download the JSON.

Nothing is uploaded. This page makes no network requests of its own, which is also why there is no upload button on the send step: you download the file and email it, and that is the only way anything reaches us.

If you send it to us

A quiz we accept becomes an ordinary public page on trivio.net, free to play, with your credit line on it exactly as you typed it — or no name at all if you leave it blank. We may edit the wording, correct a fact, or leave out a question we cannot verify, and we may decide not to publish it. Send only questions you wrote yourself or that come from common knowledge; please do not paste in someone else's published question set.
